Children’s Checkups & Cleanings

Gentle routine dental checkups and cleanings for children in Waterdown. Keeping little teeth clean, strong and cavity-free every six months.

The Appointment That Prevents Everything Else

A routine checkup every six months is the single most effective thing you can do for your child’s dental health. Most problems we treat could have been prevented (or caught while they were still small and painless) at a regular visit. Our hygiene appointments are unhurried and narrated. Children know what is happening before it happens.

How Often Should Children Come In?

Every six months suits most children. Children with a history of cavities, orthodontic appliances, dry mouth, or certain medical conditions may do better at three- or four-month intervals. We will tell you honestly which category your child falls into.

Making It Fun

We have a treasure chest, we hand out stickers, and we make a genuine fuss over children who sit well. It sounds trivial. It is not: a child who leaves feeling proud comes back willingly six months later.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

Does a cleaning hurt?

No. For most children it feels like tickling and tastes like bubblegum.

My child has never had a cleaning and is nervous. What can we do?

We can split it across visits: one appointment just to sit, look and count teeth, and the cleaning next time. There is no rush.
